WHY DO WE GIVE?

The first reason that we give is because we want to REACH PEOPLE WITH THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS. Sowing financially into the kingdom of God empowers us to shine a bright light through our local gatherings and outreaches, regional partnerships, and global missions efforts.

The second reason that we give is because WE CAN’T OUT GIVE GOD. One of the many verses in the Bible on giving is found in Proverbs 3: 9-10 “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” God is letting us know that it is impossible to out give Him. When we give to God, God always gives back to us.

The third reason we give is because GOD GAVE. The most popular verse in the Bible says “For God so loved the world that he gave His only son.” God gave His son and Jesus gave His life. Through Christ, God has given us an abundant life on this earth and eternal life in Heaven. God is a giver. If we are going to become more like God, if we are going to become more like Him, then we need to strive to be generous with our time, talent, and treasure.

WHAT IS TITHING?

A tithe (which means “tenth”) is defined as the first 10% of a person’s income that is to be given back to the local church and is a principle that is taught throughout the entire Bible. When we tithe, we are expressing our worship to God by putting His kingdom first in our lives.

Bringing our tithe is an opportunity for us to give God our thanks, to show God we trust Him and fight against greed in our hearts...all while allowing us to be a part of the most important work in this life and that is spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ!
